Eileen Horn is the Sustainability Director for Douglas County and the City of Lawrence, KS. In that role, she coordinates the city and county initiatives in energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste reduction/recycling, and local food. Previously, she served as the Outreach Coordinator for the Climate and Energy Project, a statewide nonprofit that advocates for clean energy solutions for Kansas. Eileen holds an M.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont, and B.S. in Biology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

Eileen is a collaborator, problem-solver, and self-described policy nerd. Eileen is a native Kansan who believes that smart policy solutions can help us build healthy communities, sustainable environments, and vibrant economies for the people of our state.

Eileen and her husband Chef Rick Martin are co-owners of Limestone Pizza in downtown Lawrence. They live in Lawrence with their two sons, and are expecting one more on the way!
