Ann Mah is a lifelong Kansan. She is married to Larry Mah. They have one son, Cary, and two grandchildren. Ann holds a BSE and an MS degree from Emporia State University. She taught high school science for 5 ½ years and then became an engineer at Southwestern Bell. She retired from SBC after nearly 22 years and started her own training and speaking company.
Ann was the 2002 National President of the American Business Women’s Association. In that capacity, she traveled nationally speaking on business and education issues. Involved in education policy, Ann works on school quality at the state level. She is a current member of the AdvancEd state committee, working on school accreditation. Ann has served on the United Way of Greater Topeka Board of Directors and the Shawnee Heights Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors. She is the current president of the Lutheran Fine Arts Council of Topeka.
Ann served in the Kansas House of Representatives for eight years. She was on the House Education and Higher Education Committees, as well as the Local Government and Elections Committees. She championed the creation of the Technical Education Authority, advancing technical education in Kansas high schools.
